I'M BACK....in some sense

Well, I'm back blogging at least. Only, not here anymore.

Don't get me wrong, blogger has served me well these past few years. But I felt it was time for a change, and have much preferred working with Wordpress of late. And so, from now on, I intend to blog at the new PFLD site, which can be found at:

I think I have moved most links and things over. All the old posts are still there, except some of the stupid ones I decided to prune. But if I have missed anyone while moving over, holla, and I'll be sure to fix it. This site will remain as an archive and spam bot collection facility.

Busyness

I'm not going to be around much until Monday. No, I haven't got a job yet, I'm just going to busy and not really have the time to be online much. But hopefully by Monday I will be back in action. And yes, I will deal with Tim Montogomerie's ridiculous website, as promised.

And do you know why I am blogging at 3am?

Because I was ill on the weekend and spent all Saturday sleeping, thus beautifully fucking up my sleeping patterns.

Oh well, at least I can beat everyone else to the morning news. Blah blah Olympics, Georgia, house prices, murdered couple named, Milliband, tourists, Darfur etc etc. There, happy now?

Whoops

Just realized while that I had the good people at Chaos Marxism added to the Verwirrung blogroll, for some bizzare reason I had not added them over here. Rectified that bugger now.

Being ill seems to have bought out some sort of bizzare work ethic in me. Or at least made me go through my many links to strange and wonderous sites and wonder if I had added them to the sidebar yet or not.

Interesting article from Threat Level about the whole Viacom-Youtube...well, insanity, I think is the only word I can use to describe it.

I'm sure as you recall, I actually uploaded a 30 second clip from The Colbert Report to showcase our success at ColbertGASM earlier in the year. And of course, since Viacom now have the IPs and usernames of everyone who has ever visited Youtube at any time at all, its only a matter of time before they track me down, charge me with the awful crime of posting a 30 second clip, then throw away the key.

At least its going to take them a damn long time to do so, given the amount of data to be handed over.

Sorry, not around much again

What with job-hunting and so on and so forth, I've really basically limited my internet access to PD.com for the moment. Too busy with other stuff. Still, right now I seem to have at least one job interview coming up, and once I work myself into a routine, regular posting will resume. Until then...I guess you'll just have to wait!

Your temporal lord and master was too busy trying to get a fix to keep his shitty personal fiefdo-uh, forum, running perfectly. You wont find the answers to why it was down via Google either, and especially not via this place (which emphatically had nothing to do with the hilarity of MW going down for several days). How about you go pick up some books on how the internet works, and maybe some programming, and go away now?

Off for a week

I'm off for 5 days of debauchery in the capital with my girlfriend from tomorrow, so don't expect much to be happening here.

You know...

I actually had plans to do some more interesting, longer articles, now that all my lectures have officially finished.

But instead, I'm having to do paperwork. PAPERWORK.

Damnit.

I'll try and do something interesting for tomorrow.

Still busy

Just a notice, that my degree work is, predictably, becoming rather large and heavy going as the end of semester arrives. So no updates will be made until the weekend at least, where I will try to do some articles, inbetween recording a podcast.

Not really blogging much

Technically I am on holiday, and there is something about not having a desk or masses of deadlines that makes me disinclined to post much.

Oh well, I'm sure things will pick up after next weekend. I'll still be posting on occasion, just not as frequently.

Some days, I worry about creeping authoritarianism...

Then, on other days, I remember most people involved in such projects are really not very smart. And then I feel happy again.

Some days, I really hate YouTube

As you've probably noticed, YouTube has already taken down the clip of the Colbert Report that I uploaded on Friday. Why?

"Copyright claim by Viacom."

Now, to refresh your memory, that was a thirty second clip. 33 seconds, to be precise (uh-oh, Masonic connotations there). Oh teh noes, we might've cut into Viacom's oh so terribly slim profit margin. How many CEOs will go hungry tonight because of our reckless action? Etc etc Not to mention it was basically free advertising for the show, aimed at a new audience. If anything, Viacom should be congratulating us.

Now I suppose I'll just upload it to another twenty or so video sites and link them all here, in protest. Sigh.....

An invitation from Felix Faustus Nothus to blog over at Carnival of Anarchy. Although I'm a little busy to write anything right now, once I'm finished with MLA's Pranks and Pranksters course, I'll certainly have the time to devote myself to writing some articles and joining in some debates. As always, anything I post there will be posted here too.

Pranking about

Just a heads up to let you know blogging may be fairly light for the next few weeks. Not only am I going to finish my degree and finally (at last) get my bloody Master's, I'll also have my hands full with the R U Sirius course Pranks and Pranksters, Tricks and Tricksters at Maybe Logic, and a couple of other little side projects.

That said, I'm about to launch into a blogging blitz, so you'll have plenty to catch up on should I be busy.

Update: actually, my circumstances don't look too good right now, so I've had to withdraw from taking part in this, not to mention make ramen noodles a staple part of my diet again. Stupid rent changes...anyway, best of luck to the rest of you who are involved in this, and let me know what you get up to.

Look at what I got...

I actually got it a couple of days ago, but with travelling and having cleverly hidden my USB cables all over the place, I decided not to mention it until now. This is of course the version that Synaptyx published, with the hilarious quotes (no, really) provided on the back.




As you can see, I also decided to get my NeoCon on with this selection from Bloom, Strauss and Schmitt. Nothing like reading philosophy you almost but don't quite agree with, especially when it impinges on contemporary issues.



But since the philosophy books not only ruin my counterculture credentials, but are also deadly dull in many ways, I have the above to keep me entertained. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have rather a lot of reading to do...

Its over

At last, the academic nightmare that is my dissertation has been sent off, so that second rate thinkers can try and pick apart my unassailable genius of a thesis.

So that's that over with, at least.

Now I'm technically on my holidays I should have more time to contribute to this and some creative endeavours. I'll probably be able to do my long awaited podcast before February, as well as some more creative pieces of writing as well.

However, for a few days, I'm just going to collapse into my bed, so if you'll excuse me...
